Areas of Practice :

Wrongful Termination
Although California is an at-will state, meaning most employment can be terminated by the employer or employee at anytime, there are times this is not true. The Law Office of Peter C. Beirne will assist you in determining if your recent termination was wrong and how best to protect yourself. We represent individuals who are fired wrongfully by their employer – whether due to a breach of contract or by acts of discrimination and retaliation based on gender, age, race, religion, or disability.

DUI Defense (including DMV hearings)
Protect your license and Good Driver standing. Clients dealing with a DUI arrest are facing two different tracks. Both are separate from each other and success in one does not necessarily translate to success in the other.
First, there is the criminal hearing. The Law Office of Peter C. Beirne will not have you blindly accept the deal presented by the Deputy District Attorney. We will review the file to make sure there are no legal grounds for having the arrest thrown out. We will negotiate the best plea bargain and in the circumstance that the deal offered is unacceptable to the client, take the case to trial.
Second, is the DMV hearing which deals only with the suspension of your license. In order for a DMV hearing to go forward, you, or your attorney, must request one within 10-days of your arrest. The Law Office of Peter C. Beirne will request this hearing if there is still time and will seek to have your license not suspended.

Civil Litigation

We will review any matter you wish legal advice on and will determine whether we can assist you or if the matter is best handled by counsel with more specific experience in the matter. We will only take cases that we can give the proper attention and legal skill.

Beirne will assist you in getting compensation for your injuries from the parties who are at fault. Mass Torts
Mass Torts are cases in which a common occurrence causes injuries to a large group of people, such as injuries occurring from pharmaceuticals. The Law Office of Peter C. Beirne can and will represent not only individual victims of a mass tort, but multiple individuals. We will litigate our client’s case individually and/or seek appropriate inclusion in any mass litigation already dealing with the specific issues of our client faces.

In all litigation cases the Law Office of Peter C. Beirne takes on, we are willing and able to take them completely through trial. We will not accept, nor encourage our clients to accept, an unfair settlement. In this scenario, we would rather have a case come to trial.

Until a retainer is signed with Peter C. Beirne, there is no attorney/client relationship.
